Joshua -- The God of Moses
Bro. Will Fehr started teaching the Adult/Youth Sunday School class this past Sunday. He is taking us on a journey through the book of Joshua. One verse really stood out to me.
Joshua 1:5b, "... as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
Although this was spoken to Joshua, it is a promise that can be applied to each of us as well. Imagine, the same God that parted the Red Sea, Who turned the heart of a heathen king, Who freed an entire nation without a war... that same God is my God!
How often do we in our modern time wish that we could see the same miracles, revivals, and faith of days gone by? Think about it... we CAN! God has not changed. The problem is that we have. Let's get back to the days of Joshua. Joshua 24:15 is our family verse...
"And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD."
Joshua was told that he had the same God as Moses. Then Joshua tells the people that they can choose to either serve God or they can choose to serve the gods of their fathers or those who live around them. The One, True God hasn't changed and neither has the other gods of this world. Which do you serve today?
