"Remind me why we had kids!"

"For this child I prayed; and the LORD hath given me my petition which I asked of him: Therefore also I have lent him to the LORD; as long as he liveth he shall be lent to the LORD. And he worshipped the LORD there." 1 Samuel 1:27, 28

"Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD; and the fruit of the womb is his reward." Psalm 127:3

Every Momma should memorize these verses. Anyone who has been a Momma for more than one trimester, knows this is true. Kids will give you grief. It starts when they learn how to play bladder ball and climb your ribs like a ladder. Then it's demanding food at an ungodly hour of the night. One day, they learn to roll, then crawl, climb, run (do they ever really walk?) Somehow, they learn to TALK! And it's all down hill from there.

Actually, that's not entirely true. I'm just havin' one of those days. It seems everything I put in a suitcase, they take out, everything I fold, they unfold, ect... It's on days like these that I need these verses the most. It's when I remember why I have children that I can stop focussing on all the rotten stuff they do.

The blessing of children:

1. The feeling of unconditional love when the doctor hands them to you and they snuggle up instead of kick.
2. The first smile (one that's not caused by gas)
3. Watching Big Brother hold his sister for the first time
4. Listening to little ones sing about God's love while playing
5. Giggles and "tickle me again, Daddy"
6. My big boy all dressed up for church on Sunday morning
7. My girls being good Mommas to their doll babies
8. My little man learning to shave with a spoon at Daddy's side
9. Listening to them quoting Scripture and learning new truths from God's Word
10. A repentant child who actually learned their lesson this time, I hope
11. "Mommy, I love you"
12 "Daddy, didn't have to do this for me, but he did  it 'cause he loves me sooo much!"
13. The potty dance of victory
14. A new skill learned
15. All three kids playing together because they want to, not because they have to.
16. The faith of a child
17. A child praying
18. The look of amazement when God answers a child's prayer
19. "Momma, thank you for talking to me"
20. "Momma, I just saw one of God's miracles"

The list goes on.....

I feel better now.

"Thank you, Father, for my children."

everytime I feel in a border of insanity, I read this blog : http://prayforshuqin.blogspot.com/
It's a testimony of a mom who get saved after her 3 year old daugther diagnosed with rare cancer. She later died at the age of 4. This blog has been a great blessing to me... encourage me to survive hard day and sad day. I shed tears everytime I read it, acknowledging God's power changing people's heart, saving the unsaved, and comfort the broken hearted. Everytime I read it, again and again, I count my blessing.
