The Secret to Great Gain...



"But godliness with contentment is GREAT GAIN.
For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
And having food and raiment let us be therewith content."
1 Tim. 6:6,7

As I study the topic of contentment for a Bible study I'm working on for my ladies' retreat next week, I came across some very pertinent questions:

1. Could I be content with only treasures in Heaven? (Matt 19:16-22) Would it be enough?

2. Am I discontented with the provisions Christ has given me? (Matt 6:19-21, 24-34)

Talk about conviction!

How much do you need, physically, relationally, and materially
before you experience contentment?

Think about it!

Do you have what it takes?


Insecurity is a universal struggle all woman face.

I'm not an exception.

In the back of my Bible I keep a list of verses that I refer to when I'm tempted to doubt in God's ability to use me. I thought I'd share it with you.

2 Corinthians 9:8 ~ God has given us ALL grace and ALL sufficiency in ALL things.

Psalm 84:11,12 ~ God gives grace and glory and willnot withhold any good thing.

Philippians 4:19 ~ God will supply ALL your need.

Philippians 4:13 ~ God enables.

John 15:5 ~ I can do NOTHING without God.

Proverbs 3:26 ~ My confidence is in the Lord, because the Lord IS my confidence.

Exodus 4:10-12 ~ God made me, and God makes NO mistakes.

1 Thessalonians  5:24 ~ It is GOD who WILL do it -- He IS faithful!

Luke 13:3 ~ Do it anyway!

God leaves no room for excuses lke, "I don't have what it takes!" or "I just can't do it."

What does God want you to do today? You CAN do it, and you MUST do it.
